Here's a link to all his ebay items. Look at these and realize... these are the ones he's selling!

I'm no expert on the Ovation/Adamas line though I imagine hanging
around here will change that. A friend of mine in OH has a
prototype that he bought from a Kaman family member.
Thought you guys might be jazzed. It's the first SS bowl in 1982.

He's a real collector... I'm hoping to give this thing a strum someday.

XSWA = Extra Shallow Woodtop Adamas. Basically a supershallow 1537. Interesting in that there are only a very few non-cutaway supershallow bowls. Dave

Pretty cool. Non cutaway shallows ARE rare.

This may have been the first WOOD topped ssb. I think the Glen Campbell Adamas prototypes were built earlier in 1982.

While not a fan of SSB's in general, this one looks like a definite keeper. Bet it sounds great!

Wow, I turned 24 on that day. This looks remarkably like the 1537 I just bought except for the rounded corners on the bridge and, of course, the shallow bowl.

Moody, the two Glen guitars were back in May. 051982 is mine.
TuppyDave has got this one right it's basically a SS 1537. We'd have to ask Nick why he built this one, probably just to see if he could.
Nice guitar.

The GC Adamas steel string ss bowl proto (if that is what Paul was refering to) was July 8, 1981. You signed it Bill...it's gotta be the truth!
Mike Wong's GC Adamas Classical proto was sometime in '82 but I forget the exact date.

This will probably be considered a sin by some of you, but if I had that guitar, I'd send it to the mothership to have it changed out to a deep bowl. I don't really care about a sticker.

I had a feeling you guys would know more about that! So what's that mean? His is a proto but not a first? I probably won't tell him that. Let him remain blissful. Still a rare treasure. (especially from the eyes of "Joe Ovation Owner" like me.)

I think that it might be a first -- a first wood topped super shallow bowl guitar. And probably the only ssb 1537 to boot! That's about as rare as you can get.

And to top it off, it's a beautiful guitar to boot.

Somebody mentioned the rounded corners of the bridge... that's a bridge from an Adamas II. Those were also used on Bill and Glen's prototypes.

I thought that we were going on about this being a wood SS. The Adamas SS were slightly before this as the evidence shows. This could be the first SS wood top, have to have Nick confirm that.

The interesting thing is the existence of non-cutaway supershallow bowl mold. First production supershallows were the cutaways, I think 83 Collector. Only other supershallow noncutaways I know of were the Folk Classics. Dave

Sounds like '82 was a busy year for figuring out what to do with the SS models. What to take to market and what looks/sounds good for the '83 lineup. Plus look at all the models making a debut in '82. Whew!

Hey guys... My friend is putting this up for auction on Ebay. Should be active in the next couple days and I'll post the link when it's there. Thought there'd be a few that would be interested.
