Mountain top????????

Sheshhh....I guess I am spolied by the Rockies.

I thought it looked like a pile of dirt from a construction site in the distance

The Rockies are a very young and impetuous mountain chain. The Appalachian chain, which once rivaled the hieght of the Himalayas, are 680 million years old, much older than the still forming Rockies, and as such have had eons to soften and erode...

I did say CT hill top. It's only 1559'. The rockies are way more, even Mt Mitchell in NC is 6600'. You still get a 40-50 mile view so we'll suffer through with that.

I guess I should enjoy my 40 or 50 mile view from my office window. If I turn north, however, the view is blocked by this darn mountain. I don't really call it a mountain, though, because it's only 7500 feet. I can't wait until it's softened and eroded so that I can see further.

Hmmmmm....so my rock is younger than your rock. Interesting theory.

I would be more inclined to believe that there is a larger buildup of fecal matter in the area of the Appalachian chain which results in the softening and erosian.

Sorry, I was busy subducting. What did I miss, a Geometry lesson?

A nearby hike on a clear morning up Mt. Ellinor would provide a view of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood. How many active volcanoes do you guys got?

Got Lahar?

Tim, you're up!

I think a more appropriate question would be "why would we want any active volcanoes"!

Makes every day seem just a little bit more precious!

And the virgin sacrifices (or, more accurately, helping girls fail the test) are fun...

Woody, the point is, Jeff's mountains have eroded, Stephen's mountains are eroding, our mountains are still growing!
