Are you playin' a gig or simply hangin' with friends and family at home.

Do you have a fimily tradition or are you taking some vacation days and going somewhere?

What's happening in your hometown?

Care to share your plans for the big day with us?

Just going up to the cabin and hanging out with all the tourists at the lake. Probably won't stay for fireworks on the 4th. It's cool to ride out in the boat and watch the fireworks overhead. Drink beer, eat too much, maybe play some golf and ride mountain bikes. If there's any time left, I'll fix whatever needs repairing and break something else while I'm doing it.

The Class C fireworks will be here Thursday. Between the two of us (myself and a buddy), we bought around $300 worth of mortars and rockets. The kicker was it was a 'Buy One Get One Free' sale. :D

Possession is a misdemeanor. I have no idea what actually firing them is worth.

Other than discreetly launching said toys, no big plans.

I'll be in Japan. They don't celebrate the 4th over there so it's just another work day. So far this year I have been OOC on Presidents Day, Memorial Day and now Independence Day. Anybody want to take bets on Labor Day? Dave

We will be thinking about all the freedom we enjoy and the men and women in the military away from home protecting that freedom. Lots of fireworks here in Vegas, Ringo's All Starrs, Brian Wilson and his band, and the Beach Boys, lemonade, a little food, time with friends and family, a little guitar fondling, and maybe even a beer or two. Oh, yeah and an excuse to close the office on Monday as well as Tuesday!

Being self employed, the 4th just means another day where I can't work!

Just kidding. Family and friends and a moment to reflect on what it means to live in this country (something that Natalie Manes of the Dixie Chicks probably won't be doing).

We've got a family friend who flew bombers in WWII. Every 4th he'd pull out his copy of the Declaration of Independence, read it, and shed a tear for those who fought for the freedom he enjoys so much.....

Hey Tahiti Jack, I see you have a Taylor 514CE, I thought I was the only one OFC'er with a 514CE. How do you like it? Since I own 6 US made O's, I don't feel guilty talkin about other guitar makers on the board. I love them all.

OLJ, maybe this will be a good excuse to post a newer pic of the kids. That last one you put up must have been several years old if your daughter is turning 6!

A passle of friends, ribs, beer and bocce. Now that the kids are out on their own we pass on the fireworks. The dog freaks out and hides every 4th, poor guy, he actually shakes, whimpers, and cowers at the noise.

I usually read the Decleration at the end of dinner -- actually tears most people up.

First, I'm going hang gliding over Rome, then hopping in a Lear 35 for light lunch with the Sweedish Swimsuit Team in Madrid, then guitar shopping with Eddie Van Halen before our duet concert at Leads. At this point my alarm usually goes off and I stumble out of bed to get the grill stoked. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday!! :D

Last year I was on Block Island .and they have these Goats called fainting goats on this farm along with [no fooling ]racing Chickens.these Chickens all bunch up and take off running like crazy.very fast right past this herd of Goats just standing their minding their own.all of a sudden the Goats get real stiff and you guessed it they fall over and faint.I almost wet myself the first time I saw this.the owner comes out and said to come by latter when the fireworks start.Man the first rocket goes off the Chickens take off and the Goats start dropping .every bang was a riot again almost lost half a dozen beers I had in me at the time .I wish I was their again. I will be content to stay home with a new guitar I have sweating over for 6 months 1972 Fender tele i just grabbed from original owner for $600.00 natural finish .anyway everyone be safe and wish me luck as I will also be coaching boys AAA Baseball for Div playoffs
