The U681T is classified as a 30th anniversary reissue. Unlike the other 3 which are clearly based on prior models, what model was the U681T based on? If it is a completely new design, then why the reissue designation?

I can't lock up the guitar collection unless I move it to a smaller room and I don't want to do that. The "studio" will have to double as the exercise room for awhile longer. I just called home to see if my wife or daughter were close to the Adamas brochure, but they weren't around, so I will have to check it when I get home.

At least that's MY story. Dave (They're still trying to figure out how he got out).

It DOES state that there are four new American-made commemorative models for 2005 This 12-fret to the body Adamas has all the makings of a world-class, high-end accpustic/electric guitar. Acoustically, the shorter scale length and deep non-cutaway bodygive this guitar a wide-open tone with exceptional volume and clarity The only mention in the Adamas Catalog of any of them being "re-issue" is the 1187-247 Adamas #47

Joined: March 2005 Posts: 12759 Location: Boise, Idaho | Oops. I hope I didn't jinx it. The brochure I have says the same thing as what Gregory S quoted above. The only other thing that might imply it's a reissue is the statement, "Take this opportunity to own a significant piece of guitar history." One of each would be nice, but I'll have to settle for one for awhile. Maybe I'll start an argument with my wife over which is better looking, blue or red and try to make her think she won when I agree to get both. That will probably work as well as some of my closing arguments.

So to address the topic: What the catalog describes is the ute ownership process. 1) purcahse a Ute 2) receive same and note a few 'issues' 3) send it back for a little rework 4) at a future date, it will be "Reissued" to you Now I gotta go...

It's certainly not a reissue in the sense that it's a copy of a previously discontinued famous model. It's like nothing that ever came before it, other than the W681 protos we saw at the first OFC Tour in 2002 and that a few members here bought. But maybe by "reissue" Ovation means that this guitar (and the other 3 in the series) are a reissue of Ovations ability to build guitars based on how they SOUND, not just what color or type of electronics they think will sell.
