I'm sure the Ute will get played a bunch. The others may get jealous. I have a long way to go before I'm worthy of these guitars.

It just keeps changing but seems to always go thru the same cycle. Phase 1: you think you "need" some certain model so you somehow justify it to SWWSIYBTMG. Phase 2: you start to feel guilty that you don't play the other guitars that you already owned. So you rationalize that it's better to sell them to someone who will play them. Phase 3: you feel bad about the empty space on the wall. Phase 4: you fill the space with some new "must have". Then the who cycle repeats. I've sold off a lot of guitars that I swore I would never part with. I'm lucky to have bought some that I never thought would be possible. It all balances out in the end. Enjoy your U681. Dave PS - Mark, At SOME point you have NO excuse not to finish learning Classical Gas. When you visited my house you were up to measure 24. That was a LONG time ago.

Sometimes when BrianT and I play, I'll thump out the beat with my baby finger to start the song. That top is very drum-like. It feels very delicate like fine china and almost paper-thin compared to a wood top. I'm almost afraid to tap it too hard even with just my baby finger. BTW...Is the textured top thinner than the cross weave top???

I'd like to bring something that the other people haven't had a chance to play, but it would also be cool to compare 1537s and with Tim's 1547 and compare the 87 Collector's with his Book Elite. I just need to get together again with Tim. He also has a 1763 that would be nice to compare to my 1713.

If I'm wrong...I stand corrected. I certainly don't want to get on the wrong side of the proverbial "them". God Save The Queen

It took me a second to figure out that she meant I have an almost new U681T. I hate it when I have to work, instead of being home to play with a new toy. I'll try to take pictures and post a full report this weekend. I might have to wait until next Wednesday though, since I leave town for 3 days starting Sunday.
