I don't think that's covered under warranty.

If Ovation covers it, it would be way, way beyond what you could hope to expect, even from a very consumer service oriented company, especially for a Korean made model. Good luck but I think your friend and you might do well to split the cost if you value the friendship. That really sucks. :(

Kalel, I see you're a texter, not a typer ...

It's a fantasy to think it can be fixed in time, get a loaner.

Read the contract, what did your warranty say?

actually im a typer not a texter. only problem is punctuation to much wmp no acc its due to halo and cod 2

well i wouldnt mind splitting but it was my moms money if it were mine id gladly due it but my mom didnt show it but she was mad at me i was supposed to take care and what not.

hmmm the warrenty no idea i had no time to fill it out and well cleaned my room and i think i threw it away.

all i have is hope and faith for now cant get a loaner no money and job dosnet pay sense its taking care of 2nd family business mom isnt going to waste anymore on instruments.

i also had to buy a tenor sax but couldnt afford it.

well fantasies are better than reality it dosent matter how long it takes long as i hope they fix it.

dumb thing is when were at the store my dad is liek oh u should hav lied told them u were tuning it and it just broke.

i just told them what happned. the guy looked at me like wht do u want me to do?

gc aint so freindly bu i guess if i buy another on il get an ovation altho it might be a few years

What preamp did it have? I may be willing to send some $ for the preamp and the can depending on what version it is.

Kalel, I don't know how old you are, but I think your dad was wrong and you were right. It's a tough lesson to learn but accidents happen and sometimes you lose out. One thing for sure is that you are young, and believe me, live right, be honest, work hard and you WILL be able to afford all the guitars you want in the future.

It may not seem like it now, but you'll find a guitar to replace it before you know it. Allways look forward for opportunities and not backwards at failures, of whatever nature.

People aren't allways kind. The guys at GC I'm sure sympathised with you and if they sent it back to Ovation, that's about the best they could possibly do. I'm actually surprised they went that far when the damage was obviously accidental and not a defect.

Take your losses well and you'll enjoy your successes all the more.

Great advice Rick, stay optimistic and honest Kalel. Things don't alway's work out the way we think they should, but if we keep a good attitude about it, it always works out for our best interests. Also, don't give up on your dreams! Invest some positive actions toward them!
It'll work out! Phil :)

Kalel, call the guys at GC everyday until you're sure they've sent it to Ovation. When I had my Ovation 6756LX repaired I handed it to them and when I called a week later they still hadn't sent it to Ovation. When I checked back a week after that they still hadn't sent it. They said that they were having trouble getting a return authorization from Ovation, yet when I called Ovation I was able to not only get through to the folks there, but also got the return auth right then. The guys at GC aren't making anything off the repair so it's easy for it to disappear off their radar if you don't keep it there.

Whatever happens, though, being honest and not getting it fixed will feel better (a lot better) than lying and getting it fixed. Good job on your part.

I didn't think Ovation repaired the Celebs.. at least not in CT, right? Is there someplace else in the States that repairs the offshore models?

I will give you a universal truth, as stated by that great country story teller, Tom T Hall, when asked why he didn't carry a guitar with him. He said, "every where I go they have guitars that they beg me to play"

Learn to play that well and you wont need a guitar.

Matrix - decent (but I don't want one) guitar ovation built as an ?entry level? guitar. With the aluminum neck it's gotta be even tougher than a regular O!

Kalel, head over to eBay. There are always a bunch of cheapo Ovations for sale. You can pick up a perfectly functional unit for not much more than $100.
