Location: Chehalis, Washington | Okay, it looks like Musician's Friend has a #47 RI coming in on October 3rd. Could this be right, and not a screw-up? They've got it listed at $3499 - not a bad price it would seem. Anyone looking for one, this might be a good option.

It used to bother me that "Ovations don't get the respect they deserve". Now I frankly don't give a damn. They only person an Ovation guitar has to satisfy is ME. And they usually do that very nicely.

Location: CT | I got brow-beaten in another thread for suggesting 5K was too much for this guitar. 3500 is a little more realistic. Musicians Friend is making a profit on these, so whoever is selling them for 5K is making a profit plus 1500 bucks. I am now awaiting my second beating. |

OK, try this. Forget about actual dollars, like 3000, 4000, etc. Just compare the sound and build quality of this instrument to what you can buy from other makers like Martin, Collings, Lowden, etc. I would venture to say that you would have to spend equal or more on those other brands to match what you get with the 47RI. Is it a bargin at $4000? Well, if you have to spend $5k to get something "better" from another builder, then yes it's a bargin.

THREE guitars arriving at my work address. I checked my wifes schedule and she's working until 3pm today. So I can sneak home at lunch time and bring them in undetected. Dave hides most of his guitars in his humidity controlled closet. Plus he has so many, most people couldn't keep track. I tried to hid mine in the basement, but my wife decided to move all her exercise stuff down there so she sees them every day. 3 guitars in one day is really pushing it. I've done 2 and once did a guitar and amp, but I don't have the balls to do 3 and wouldn't have any if I did. Congrats, Dave. |

The top even has this raised edge binding on it, EXACTLY like a real tupperware container. You would be SHOCKED to hear how good this thing sounds for a slab of plastic. Dave |
