They've got it listed at $3499 - not a bad price it would seem. Anyone looking for one, this might be a good option. Food for thought (or GAS :D ).

It used to bother me that "Ovations don't get the respect they deserve". Now I frankly don't give a damn. They only person an Ovation guitar has to satisfy is ME. And they usually do that very nicely. Dave

I just went and did a straight 10 across review. About a dozen OFC members doing the same and it will even out the idiot that ranked it 1's and 2's.

Musicians Friend is making a profit on these, so whoever is selling them for 5K is making a profit plus 1500 bucks. I am now awaiting my second beating.

Forget about actual dollars, like 3000, 4000, etc. Just compare the sound and build quality of this instrument to what you can buy from other makers like Martin, Collings, Lowden, etc. I would venture to say that you would have to spend equal or more on those other brands to match what you get with the 47RI. Is it a bargin at $4000? Well, if you have to spend $5k to get something "better" from another builder, then yes it's a bargin. Dave

TODAY will be a banner day. THREE guitars arriving at my work address. I checked my wifes schedule and she's working until 3pm today. So I can sneak home at lunch time and bring them in undetected. I'll take the boxes and dispose of that evidence in the dumpster behind the 7-11. Like I said, I'M IN CHARGE. Dave

Then on the inside: "From the woman who tells him which ones to wear." Dave hides most of his guitars in his humidity controlled closet. Plus he has so many, most people couldn't keep track. I tried to hid mine in the basement, but my wife decided to move all her exercise stuff down there so she sees them every day. 3 guitars in one day is really pushing it. I've done 2 and once did a guitar and amp, but I don't have the balls to do 3 and wouldn't have any if I did. Congrats, Dave.

OK, the other 2 are real (nice) ones. But as soon as I can unpack them, one box gets used for another (really) nice one that I sold and needs to be shipped. So on balance it's not SO bad, but yes walking into the house with three guitar boxes does open the door for plenty of questions. Dave3 guitars in one day is really pushing it.

The top even has this raised edge binding on it, EXACTLY like a real tupperware container. You would be SHOCKED to hear how good this thing sounds for a slab of plastic. Dave
