Location: Utah | Ah, seen this before with gun nuts, too. There are a couple of strategies you can employ.
First, find out what her cost threshold is. For example, if it's $300, then every guitar from now on costs... $300!
Second, buy guitars with the same basic color scheme. Yes, this probably works a lot better with guns where one black pistol looks just like every other black pistol, but you might still be able to apply it.
Barring that, just tell her what a great investment your guitars are! |

Yup, that worked for me.....once.......now I hide them around the house and keep the one I'm using at the time on the stand. Then switch them out every few days. Ha, now she's really confused!! Now, where did I put the 1115.... :confused: |

Location: Los Angeles | So I have two methods. First is keep one at the office so I can practice after work. Boss likes those emails at 7:30pm anyway.
Second is buying one for my buddy...it floats a while and if it goes away he picked it up. I have to try the same color scheme - very creative...

This same thing happened to me once before I wised up, so this is what you gotta do ...
I kept the guitar at my office for a couple of months, then brought it home. The wife didn't notice for a few weeks, it just sat there with the other guitars, then one night she said something like: hey that looks different, and you say oh this, my friend (fill in the name of a reliable friend who'll lie for you)sold it to me for (say a ridiculously low price that she won't quibble with).
Works great, except she'll say, why so cheap, and you say; ah, you know, he just wanted to pay me back for all the help I've given him over the years, he's a pal. That should end it.

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I had 11 at one time, and the wife started freaking out a bit. I then came up with a plan ... I told her I was going to sell some of them and upgrade models. I also sold off a number of other items like effects pedals and other stuff, until I got everything I wanted (aside from an Elite Bass and an Adamas I). After thinking about it for a while, and looking at the finances, I decided I could live with what I have now. I've found that the best method that works with my wife is the "Buy it and don't give any reasons or excuses" routine. We may argue about it for a while, but once it's here - it's here. She gets over it. Obviously, if you think she's gonna get very serious over it, it's not worth jeopardizing a marriage over. |

Location: ranson,wva | im on a shitty fixed income so most of the guitars i have ive gotten from selling and trading or telling her you should go in on half with me "its a good investment" line. jason. btw fixed income is from a bad head injury a few years back. bad head aches and fainting at times...not to safe to be working.. |
