But one response inspired this idea: What is/are some of the most meaningful song lyrics that either stuck in your head or actually meant something in your life? Two of mine are: Stuck in head: "Weird scenes inside the gold mine..." (Doors 'The End') Actually mean something: "I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become . . ." (From Toto's 'Africa')

She said go to him, stay with him if you can, But be prepared to bleed. You are in my blood like holy wine. You taste so bitter and so sweet Oh, I could drink a case of you And still, I would be on my feet I would still be on my feet - Joni Mitchell

From Joe Walsh and his great album SO WHAT; Turn to Stone. "Backyard people when they work all day Tired of the Speeches and the way that the reasons keep changing... Just ta make the words rhyme" And when I think of mortality, and the worth of my life..... it is Chris Squire's solo piece called "Silently Falling" that has lyrics that are timeless to me. Look em up or listen to the song in it's entirety the lyrics are pretty meaningful and you gotta love the Hammond-Bass jam in there, that is a lot of fun to play by the way. OMA LOL you reminded me of Tull..... "Meanwhile back in the year 1 when you belong to no one....you didn't stand a chance... son.... if your pants were undone.

When I was young and they packed me off to school And taught me how not to play the game, I didn't mind if they groomed me for success, Or if they said that I was just a fool. -Jethro Tull- Wind Up Anyway, I got to Arthur's quote and it all came back. I could hear the music and feel it too. That line and the rest of the lyrics from that song pretty much sums up an earlier part of my life. It also underscores, for me at least, how useless the education system can be - they hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool. The only thing that I learned in high school was how not to play the game and I'm pretty sure they would have said I was a fool if I'd bothered to ask. Odd thing though, once I got away from those losers, I pretty much breezed through university as well as law school and got my call to the Bar w/out busting a sweat. My favourite line from Wind Up would be: I don't believe you. You have the whole damn thing all wrong!
