Joined: August 2002 Posts: 4 | Hi, Just bought a used Ovation CC-57 AC/EL Guitar off ebay (wine red). Now, I had a choice between the two guitars, and one of them has the OP20 tuner/amp, which I chose. Can anyone here tell me this and the 4-band eq. I'm sorry, but I'm totally new to ovation, and even newer to the ac/el systems. I'm still using the blond Takamine from the 70's (beautiful sound). Thanks for the help all. Tayah(Proud owner of an Ovation) The item number is:900146795 :p :p

You mention two guitars, but cite only one (cc-057). What is it about the 4 band eq that you don't understand? Perhaps you could re-word your question, or provide more info?? -Rich

There's a number of them here and they all need some sort of help. There is a retreat in Mexico that we all need to go to and hear the teachings of Pastor Russ and his Adamii. And we will be better for it. Amen.

Well first of all I don't have all the answers and I did read your question but I am VERY confused by it. You bought a celebrity but you have your choice of two guitars? Are they two guitars of the same model? are they two guitars of different orgins? we need information to answer your questions. Often what happens when typing a post you think you are providing information but that information was still left in your head and not placed on the page. There are many knowledgeable folks here but their expertise mainly lies in the USA made guitars. If you provide us with information I am sure we can help you with your decision. Blessed are the meek seems appropriate in this case.

I read and re-read your initial post several times and repeatedly found it to be vague and ambiguous, especially "Can anyone here tell me this and the 4-band eq." Technically, it's not even a proper sentence. When given a REASONABLE amount of time and COHERENT information, you'll find that if there isn't someone in this group that'll readily answer your question, there'll be someone who'll find the answer. ....and while I realize that EVERYONE has the ability to post whatever address that they might want to use as the homepage in their "profile", and that I wholeheartedly respect ANYONE'S and EVERYONE'S right in this country to worship as they choose to (or NOT to), I personally don't feel that this board is a suitable venue for proselytism.

Joined: August 2002 Posts: 4 | Your comments are so lame. First of all, I wasn't trying to sell or push off my faith to anyone. The board asked if I wanted to put a signature down and I did. If I put down something Wiccan, you wouldn't have addressed it. Second of all, the fact that I became impatient(after seeing so many other posts addressed so quickly), doesnt' call for all the remarks made here, since I've never claimed to be anything better or worse than the owner of a new Ovation, so your need to attack christians is duly noted and typical. You clearly decided that I was supposed to be above having human frailities, which is often the first mistake made by those who choose to quote Scripture - badly. Third, and finally, to those who said my post was vague, you were right. I re-read it, and I guess in my excitement I was thinking faster than my typing carried me. I apologize. Basically, I was trying to find info on the OP20 amp since I decided to buy the guitar with that particular feature. Thank you for trying to answer my question in light of that vagueness and my lack of patience. Clearly, this will be my last post, since I'm sure there will be a truck load of sarcasm coming back because of my signature post, which again I say is a lame thing to do. As far as my reaction to my post not being addressed immediately, I apologize again for not being more patient. No doubt, those of you attacking the signature line will find that just as offensive. This is getting way out of hand and I know that nobody here is as bad (or as human) as these postings are insinuating (except maybe Al) Tayah, I say your initial posting and should have responded to it. I had no problem with your signature as I am a Christian myself. Maybe others should have stayed a little calmer about it, but this is a forum that "lets 'er rip" at times. Most folks here don't get offended by anything. You need to be a little less sensitive. As I was saying tho', I should have responded to your post to at least ask for clarification. Your question didn't make sense. All I needed to say was "Huh? Please repeat your question", but I didn't, and I'm sorry. As for Christian bashing, while it's popular these days, it has never happened here. It's just that this is a forum for discussing Ovations and almost all other side issues (with the exception of Glen Campbell's mother) isn't discussed here. Maybe it could have been pointed out more delicately. At any rate, this is a good group of people where atheists and christians get along just fine (witness Templeman and me). We have common ground in Ovation guitars. So get back to your original question and see if we can find an answer. And, if you still want to be mad at somebody, be mad at me. Heck, I'm a middle aged white guy. It's all my fault anyway. [ August 20, 2002: Message edited by: moodypi ]

There are other OFC members who sign off with similar desiderata, yet don't get attacked because they don't invite confrontation, nor do they necessarily where their hearts on their sleeves- and of course keep the topic of discussion Ovation-related. -Rich P.S. Feel free to come back and talk about Ovations, that's why we're here. [ August 20, 2002: Message edited by: Rich ]

Joined: July 2002 Posts: 162 Location: Pennsylvania | Right on, Paul. I too am christian, but in a forum about guitars, I (personally) feel it is most appropiate not push anything on people who didn't come looking for it. The signiture wasn't the reason for the response. On this board, it doesn't matter what religion one is. The reason it was brought up was because people were rudely yelled at for not answering an unanswerable question. Rudeness is often returned with rudeness.

There are a ton of people waiting to help you but you must provide information. As for the signature, it does not bother me but if it was shorter and less obtrusive it would not have drawn so much attention. I hope you join us we are not that bad except for moodypi who is working OT to get to the future OFC event.
