Fill in the blank. Hi. My name is ____ and I am an Ovation _____! Fan Fanatic Snob Promoter Endorser Advocate Embarassed Owner Basher Slappy Worshipper I'll go first and set the tone.... Hi... My name is Brad an I'm an Ovation: FAN... Nope... strike that... I can't justify that. You guys would call me out on this is a New York second. okay..FANATIC... I go to the tours, I go to the clinics, I sell the calenders (btw.. did you order yours yet??)... I wear the shirts and I have over 6k posts here. I thought I had an out and could be just a FAN because I like other makes of guitars. I just don't own any. ADVOCATE: I do my best to enlighten other players on the features and advantages of the brand but I'm very careful not to come off as preachy or pushy. SLAPPY: Maybe this term is just local slang. Perhaps another way to describe it is "loyalty". Not a serious, blind type you'd have for a king or a dictator but a kind of goofy, intangable aura or vibe. A happy, smiley face type of contentment. How 'bout you?

I like those better than fan or fanatic, because they have a connotation of somebody sitting behind a computer all day except when he's in the basement, playing with his Ovations. Fan is just a short form of fanatic and I would qualify as either of those. Ovation fan could be a subset of guitar fan, just like being a fan of a certain team could be a subset of football fan. Promoter has some connotation of making money, which I've never done with guitars. Advocate: I think I've sold more Ovations at the local Guitar Center than any of their salespeople, but I know when I'm on losing ground and don't push. I think that might be a bit weak to be called advocacy. Telling people that I have 15 of them usually gets the message across that I'm biased.

Promoter because they are great guitars made by a great company; Endorser because it's what I have been playing live for nearly 33 years and I stand behind what I play; Advocate because they are simply great tools for music making that will stand the test of time, studio, and performance. I own many other guitars but: These feel like home!
