I don't know about you but there is something about the way people advertise stuff that really bugs me. for example

Applause by Ovation AE-48 like the Adamas

why is it EVERY multi sound hole guitar is "like the Adamas"?????

I even know well established dealers that call multi sound hole guitars Adamas guitars knowing sure well that they are not!!!!

I guess it is a pet peeve of mine but It really does rub me the wrong way

Me too. Maybe it comes from being a stuck up, snooty Adamas owner. It's all your fault, Al. ;)

This has been a long time problem. I can remember when every Ovation model was referred to as "just like the one Glen Campbell plays..."

Patsbro, yes it does bother me. I can remember when the Elite came out and I thought how could they use that hole pattern on a guitar that is not an Adamas. That opinion changed quickly after I played an Elite. Great guitar. Looks like Ovation will do whatever it takes to sell a few guitars. I never thought I would see the Adamas hole pattern on an Applause guitar. I guess I gota except it....Paul Hebert

Mike, where do you think the cases go for these old Ovations? Seems like cases are like picks, people tend to lose them (lol)....Paul Hebert

Trboy,

The sad part is the guys at the Instrument Exchange know this is a Pacemaker but wont change the posting.
I’m still waiting for the add that reads “Adamas by Ovation, like Applause AE-48 only better!”

"Instrument Exchange" is a brokerage. I believe it's run by Musicians Friend.

Hey! If I take a shotgun to my POS Johnson will it be like an Adamas?

Mike,
I’m surprised they didn’t try to sell it as a 1618. If you look closely it has a Glen Campbell truss rod cover.
