Around the sound hole, by the inlays there are a bunch of "bare spots" where you can see bare wood, it is sapposed to be black. Bobby B said he will exchange it and give me a $45 strap to make it up to me. But I am leaving for vacation Saturday, so I am going to wait to send it back. What a bummer. Outside of this, it is awesome. Anybody seen this before? I haven't. I took some pictures of it, but don't know how to post them. Bill

They were the folks I got my "last one available" Tacoma mandolin from, and it turns out they drop shipped it from the factory in WA, and put the "last one avaiable" ad back on ebay. My mando is fine, and the price was great, but the practice was perhaps a bit deceptive.

Is this the one that was listed at a very low price? If so it reminds me of the old "If a deal is to good to be true..." saying. I hope the return goes smooth but most of all I hope you get the Ovation you want. Brad

It may have been a problem Bobby wasn't aware of and it looks like he's going to make it right. Hoepfully it will all turn out ok.

He truly checks out the guitar before he sends it and if he says it's ok , then it is! If the guitar has any issues he will let you know before you take the plunge. Al has been the brunt of many a "gag" from "we who Ovation", myself included  but I truly feel that you will not find a better person to deal with!

This has happened before with other dealers, and they all claim to check them out first. It is the price of doing mail order. I don't have a problem with Oklahoma, they are making it right. It is just disappointing when you wait to get it then there is a problem and you have to wait all over again. Bill

I had emailed him and he told me he looked it over and played it and it was perfect. The rosette is beautiful on the Legend LX. When you get one with no flaws you will love the guitar!

When I got a 30th Anniv Custom Legend from him, he posted a picture in HIS gallery and I was worried he'd play it so much that either I'd never get it or I would have to replace the strings. ;) All I can tell anyone is I am a repeat customer.

All I can say is that IMHO one should never buy strictly on price alone, one should buy from a store/individual that you trust to stand behind the purchase. Roger

I agree...just surprised as the 30th CL Anniv and the 1777 LX were lower through Al. In fact, Oklahoma Vintage had the first ad on eBay (Jan 3) for the CL Anniv...caused a few posts here.

Roger I agree. But if I was going to go to anybody else, I couldn't have gone with the Legend. I would have had to go with a Balladeer. My limit was even less than the price I got it for. I just stretched it to even do his low price. Maybe I should have just done that. Oh well. Bill

But the cheaper price was only on the black. He says he got a good deal on those. I think they aren't as popular. Bill
