What the Sam Hill is a junior member? Is it cos I'm only 6 feet tall? Is it cos I ain't yet 60? Is it cos I only got one Ovation? Is it cos I'm English? Is it cos my brother-in-law is a New York lawyer (i didn't choose him you know)? Why has it taken me 4 months to notice? Do I need to send money to each of you, or would beer be OK? Where have all the T shirts in the store gone?

I'd send you some decent tea but you'd only throw it in the river.

Tea - black no sugar and hot

What is the answer to the T shirt question?

schroeder,
he's referring to The OFC t-shirts from teh OFC store. Thery're sold out. Miles says he'll get more eventually so you can order them. Gosh, theonly other option is the Ovation site to buy ovation gear. But The OFC Shirts looked really great. By The way, Throw Tea in the river???I think not, I'd rather drink it. :D
Cheers!

Oh, Schroeder,

Throwing Tea in the river is so 300 years ago. We are (possibly) much more civilized now.

I'm very familiar with the Boston Tea Party, 300 years ago or not, I'd still rather drink it. :D

300 years is only a long time in a country that's still wearing diapers. My parish church was first built in 980AD (approx) - why I've got jeans older than 300 years (to hear my wife tell it) and a whole evening's worth of jokes which are older still. Why you all think that we have forgiven you for such a recent insult is beyond me. And I heard a rumour that you guys didn't even reimburse the mooring fees.

This one takes me to 20 so I'd better be promoted pretty damn quick or the mooring fees could become an issue.

If you send over some of that Guinness export, I might be inclined to discuss Anglo-American history with you. :D

I'm thinking nobody does a grudge like the UK. 400 years ago some Guy decides to have a little fireworks celebration and their still burning him in effigy today. These are not people you want to piss off.

this is the one thread today that's got me laughing... I'd say schroeder fits in pretty well here even if he is only 6' short (maybe he's due a growth spurt?). I predict a long and fun posting from him.

My brother-in-law (the New York lawyer) likes golf. He likes to play golf. He likes to watch golf. He loves to talk about golf.So does his wife. They have no interest in guitars or music. I was told today that they are coming to visit in May. It seems my wife has known this for several weeks and forgot to mention it to me. Now if one of you guys could just wing him badly enough to cancel the trip I will write your President and officially forgive the USofA for the small matter of the wasted tea. This seems like a fair trade to me.
The Guinness stays here. I have a small(me) or large(my wife) amount of the stuff in my Maytag (I'm keeping US industry going you know) and I will happily share it with any of you guys passing through. The further you get from Ireland the weaker it gets - I drank some in LA once and it was like catpiss. Whats the beer like from your micro brewerys I keep reading about?

Congratulations to schroeder for becoming a full fledged member!!!! Huzzah!

Now, send me that Guinness! I've had the export stuff (which is the best, IM!HO) in the Caribbean and it's loads better than the extra stout and/or draught they sell here in Michigan (although I have to admit the engineering behind the 'rocket widget' is pretty neat).

Can't help you with the in-laws. We all have our crosses to bear, you know. :)

I knew if we kept this post going you'd be promoted fast! It worked!! Congats Schroder, You fit in really well with us. You need to make a trip across the Atlantic to the OFC Tour and get together in June. It'll be great fun.

Brilliant!

I guess that pretty well explains it. If you're ever in Texas, get a hold of a Shiner Bock.

To close this off - thank you gentlemen.

Pity I didn't know about the OFC thing in June - I could have persuaded my wife to cancel her sister's visit, we could have come to NY and I could have left her and the kids with the golfaholics and I could have headed off in search of beer and guitars. Maybe next year.
