I'd like to think it was shipped between a couple of Fender Stratacoustics and the OHSC took all the latent energy! Hopefully a good story with a better ending.

I am focused on this being the last time I need to quit in my life. One bad thing is that I can't smoke any cigars for a while ... until at least there's no lingering urge. I like Woody's little math exercise. Too bad I wasn't a 2 pack-a-day smoker ... here in California that would add up to a #47 reissue a year.

Cheap advice, but make sure you develop a habitual behavior that is incompatible with smoking behavior. Like jogging, or some other thing that is directly affected by the frequency of the addictive behavior. Eseentially, you substitute one compulsive behavior, for another. It's OK, everybody's "strung out" on something, anyway. I took up tennis after a 23-year hiatus. Really sped up the pulmonary rehab, too. Now, back to our regularly-scheduled program......I'm turning various shades of green, visualizing the permanent grin Tony must have with his new acquisition. Keep the faith, Guys- we're all bozos on the same bus!

I had originally called it a "plain Jane" from the pictures. It is eloquent in its simplicity. The Englemann spruce, inlaid abalone and ivory rosette, ebony fingerboard, and ebony bridge - nice. I forgot to check out the bowl until I had tuned it...not as radical as I thought. Comfortable feel and, as we know, great features for the engineering department. Only 2005 model with the new bowl. For the deep bowl guys like myself, no problem - great projection. As to the quality of construction - great. Setup is great - intonnation at 12th fret is perfect. As to the "voice" - full and bright. It is an improved LX!! IMHO, a lot better than the 1777LX I played for a couple of hours a few months ago. My recommendation is buy it!! As far as I know, Al is the only source to get it now before about March. Stephen and Craig will soon have theirs. No time as this is a busy day...know I will spend several hours with it tonight.

For those of you that are thinking of quitting smoking. Try very hard. I am a double lung transplant recipient (not smoking related) and I thank God daily for that, but nothing can replace the originals. :)
