Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | For those of you that haven't read this book, it'a a great read. Takes only one evening to get thru the entire book. Since I've already read it, there's really no need for me to keep the book. It would just collect dust.
If you're interested in checking it out, just paypal me postage and I'll throw the book in an envelope and send it to you. All I ask is that you pass it along to another OFCer when you're done. Very educational about the guitars we all love.

Actually, your idea is not as dumb as it sounds. It would be fun to see how many signatures, and how many places the book has been. At the end, we could total up the miles. Sounds like fun to me. Let's gitt'r goin!

Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | OK...The Ovation Fan Club Book is on its way to sunny Florida (to David Wilson) for what I hope turns out to be a very long journey. For those of you participating in the "Traveling Ovation Book-On-Wheels" project, mailing cost was $4.90.
I'd like to see the book end up in a couple out of the way places like France, Mexico and England before it's all said and done. We have 3150 members, how many signatures can we get? |

Location: Tampa, FL | I'm kind of assuming that the 'book' has an included list with it. I think we should sign it (possibly including OFC names so we don't endup sending it to one member multiple times). If necessary, we could have a single contact point (stellarjim perhaps?)to coordinate if we run out of names on the list. But with any luck, and a little responsible perserverance, this could become a perpetual thing. Do the math. 3000 stops, a week per stop (includes time to read an transit to the next stop) and your looking at around 60 years. I'm pretty sure new members will accumulate faster than they can be put on the list. But this could become an amusing thread as the book makes it's rounds. Let's see how it turns out...

Location: south east Michigan | Probably the best way would be a system where the person recieves it then pays to pass it on. This is cool. If it pans out half as well as expected it would be nice to see the book's last stop be at CWK's shelf.
Maybe there could be a dedicated thread that tracks the book and says where it is to be sent next. |

Location: SoCal | How about taking it to the Texas get-together and the OFC Tour...maybe we could also get Rick, Kim, John, and some of the other guys and gals at the factory that support us so well.
When it has run its course (if still in one piece), then auction it off for the benefit of the OFC. We have the OFC Store and individual contributions but we all know this is not cheap to run...lot of work and money from Al and Miles.
Of course, can you imagine what it would look like with even 500 signatures (with at least $2,475 of postage)? Maybe we should all just donate the $4.95 to the OFC??
Ever think about buying the book in bulk, endorsing it as donated by the OFC w/url, donating to the libraries that don't have the book? |

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | stellarjim-I like to think I'm cool, but the name is from my Fly Fishing Guide Service. "The Fly Guy" "Flies and Guides for Fishing Alaska". It's my summer gig. I'm a data management supervisor for a big oil company up here most of the time. Oh and a Pig Nose is a little portable amp (or an ethnic delicacy from what I hear). I'll go with small amp as MY final answer...

I missed Jim's email until later.
Here is what I did:
I started a roster, signed my book (purchased from MrGolf007 via the OFC) and included a little trinket and a note. I shipped it off to some guy in Los Cruces, NM. :cool:
It is my hope that Bailey will sign it, keep and cherish the trinket, attach/enclose a memento of his choosing and send it to another OFC Member.
Mail it, pass it, bring it to OFC gatherings, ship it in a sold guitar case or whatever! Just keep it moving!
Should there be multiple books circulating around? Absolutely! And if 12 or so show up at Cliff's house on his birthday - won't that be just a lovingly beautiful annoyance to deal with!
I submit to you the challenge that no book is left sitting for too long. It will be hard to let go of some of these but think about what might be in the mailbox tomorrow! Like our guitars they are only good if they are used! It is this legacy and the fellowship of each other that brings us together.

Elvis is NOT dead, he had multiple sessions of plastic surgery, disposed of a very popular black child star with a voice that was almost feminine, took over the black child star's children's amusement park, married his own daughter, found out he was about to be charged with child molestation, and got a drunken, down on his luck San Francisco politician to take his place and escaped to New Mexico. The replacement is wallowing in what he had always desired, Recognition! Now Elvis sits up late at night at his computer spinning tall tales for a gullible group of middle aged Simon and Garfunkle fans as he sips 50 year old Mississipi whisky.

I have a Pignose G40V that my son gave me, and it has become my favorite amp for my Viper and my '66 Fender Mustang with Seymour Duncan pickups. That amp has a range of sound from nice country to growling screaming rock, (not that I would ever play growling, screaming rock). I love that amp.

PS: I wish some of those people I gave Cadillacs to in the 60's would send me one back. Also, my Jacko disguise has REALLY backfired, I ran into Eddie Fisher hiding in New Mexico like me, his eyesight is gone and he came on to me like gangbusters thinking I was Liz Taylor. A couple of verses of "Blue Suede Shoes" saved my ass.
