Looking for some impressions on a '94 Collector. What might it be worth?

Check past auctions on eBay t'get an idea of what they've gone for in the past . .

. . If not, call the Easter Bunny, he's dropping by next month. . . ;)

Blues...
This is one on my short list. I've lusted after this guitar and believe I will own one.

The first time the "Optima" came out. I'm an XLR fan and it has it. The inlay at the sound hole is years ahead of its time. A very nice guitar.

I can send / fax a copy of a sales flyer that came out promoting the guitar... Lots of info.

My confidence in the Easter Bunny isn't very high after the fat guy in the red suit blew me off a couple of months ago.

Woz, you should grab the one with the broken ear on ebay. Easy fix.

It has a buy it now price of $425! At that price it's a steal even if you have to have some work done on it. But that's just my opinion.

I don't know...with a buy it now of only $425, the reserve is probably $424.95...duh...

The remedy is to pull the trigger at the buy it now price, unless you bid and hit the reserve.
heck I'll bet the mothership can make this one good as new. I considered trying it myself, but i just don't have the cash and i'm not sure they'll accept a money order anyway. Someone should grab this one and enjoy it.

It is time for the airing of grievances!

Nice looking O for that price. Busted ear and minor dings included. What can you get today for $425? An Oscar Schmidt?

Cruster,
I agree my OFC brother. Like I said I'd bid if I had The Cash. I'm not even concerned about the dings. The ear thing would bother me more, but it's repairable.. Like you said. A USA made Ovation for $425. It's a great price!

Wild ride, I'll bet. Here's an interesting question...

On the rosette for that 94 (and maybe the indian blanket/toilet bowl one, too), did O laser cut them out of a a piece and then just lay it in there? Or was it don more traditional with a long skinny strip that was bent around the channel? Looking at the closeup of the rosette on that one, it looks to me like they laser (or maybe die, who knows) cut the pattern out of a hunk of spruce then dropped it into the channel. The grain doesn't change directions (at least in the spruce rings) like I would expect if it were a long skinny piece wrapped around the arc. Make sense? Completely useless information, but, I just don't see how else they would've done it and kept the grain all going the same way. That being said, I like that inlaid rosette way better than the stick on kind.

..curious, it looks like the grain is different from one side of the rossette to the other although that may have just been the natural variation of the wood..i would speculate that a standard-sized template was first used to die-cut the rossette, then die-cut the channels, then install the abalone, then stain and finish the entire top...
