So here's the story, he says he bought it new at 'XYZ123' Music Store in Jan '82 and no longer has his receipt. He offered to contact the store to see if they have a record of the sale. If so, could he send it to the MS for warranty repair?

If it had issues that should be covered, then it should be covered. But almost everything I saw in the pictures seems to be normal wear and tear. And if you remember from the description, the seller commented on the neck pulling away from the body. If he's talking about the heel of the guitar, then perhaps that should be covered. If he's talking about the fretboard over the top, well, we all know better on that one.....

That didn't cross my mind. Your point is valid and I hadn't look at the warranty situation in that light. This is my first true opportunity to utilize the wizards at the MS and don't want to mess up. That said, what is the best protocol for sending the Adamas to the MS for evaluation; email, phone, ship to addy, etc.? TIA

Ronnie called me, (as usual) Johnny called me to make sure I wasn't mad at him for buying it, and Music Mike called me, (I think by mistake thinking it was Johnny) just to chat. I'm glad someone got it who will rescue it. I was thinking about it, but regained my senses before I hit the button. That will make a great (and rare) guitar for Johnny. Congrats Iffy!!

Didn't realize you were into the manly necks tho.....if it turns out to be too wide for you, I got a couple of nice ones we could talk trade over. Course as former Coloradans, you and the misses would have to drive it over to me and stay a few days!

Hard to believe this will be your first dealings with the Mothership though. Have you always done your own work in the past? If you need to raise funds for the spa treatment, I'd be glad to take that eclipse you got off Chris last week off your hands...

Remind me after I receive it...
