Thanks. |

| Never used fake nails, but I've used a polish that makes the finger nails very dense. |

and am I the only one thinkin' - given the topic, "you should ask Witko for 'accessorizing' advice" |

Location: big island | i use alaska picks from time to time, but after a few songs my fingers get numb from lack of blood flow. i think my fingers are too thick for even the largest alaska picks. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Justin Sandercoe, of JustinGuitar.com sez he goes to the salon and has some chick do it professionally. Has to put up with jokes from his mates, but if you are that serious that is the way to go.
He sez that they last him a coupla weeks.
[I doubt that would help my picking any...] |

Location: 6 String Ranch | My nails are pretty strong by themselves but the index and middle need a little help from wear. I use super glue and an acrylic powder. Put on the glue, dip the nail and let it dry/harden. Takes maybe an hour. Do it a second time if needed and then smooth it all down with one of those multigrade sander things. Go check out Ed Gerhard's web site, I bought the acrylic from him.
I tried fingerpicks and just can't get the hang of them. I can use a thumb pick but mostly just use my thumb by itself, maybe a little nail. |
