Location: Montreal | I just had an Ovation guitar from a friend.
I need to fix a few things (get tuners, a nut and a saddle... ) on it and I'm trying to get more info... The sticker inside has been removed so there is no serial number...
It looks really old...
It is all made of wood, unlike the "usual" Ovation with the plastic back...
The back is made of wood and it looks like mahogany, but I'm not sure. I think you call its shape "shallow". It's 2 -3 inches thick. Top looks like spruce and there's plastic pickguards/soundholes that look like feathers...
I don't know what model it is. Could you guys help me?
Is it possible to get tuners for that specific model? They were diamond-shaped...
There are only dot inlays on the neck, which is ebony...
Thank you very much!!

Location: Upper Left USA | They didn't make any Wood back Ovations.
There are some Vipers with Mahogany backs but those are not easily mistaken for acoustic Ovations.
But first of all - Welcome.
And this is not an Ovation... |
