Joined: August 2009 Posts: 14 Location: Southeastern PA | Fellow OFCers: In an effort to remain solvent in these difficult global economic times, I have been forced to sell some of my prized possessions. (I've got two O's for sale on the OFC For Sale page.) I'm looking for good homes for my stuff. I became an owner (Custom Legend 1867) and fan of Ovations in the early eighties through Robert Fripp. Here's where I could use your assistance: I am trying to establish a fair asking price for my copy of Tony Levin's "The Robert Fripp Print" (screenshot of original offer below). It is one of 200, with Certificate of Authenticity. My Internet search only resulted in an old auction for a Boston university. I asked Tony if he knew the fair asking price. He did not know. He suggested I post to his Facebook and Fripp's DGM site. No replies giving me guidance. Tony also suggested I put it on eBay. eBay's fees seem excessive. If any OFCers have better Internet chops than I have in finding the latest resale value of the print, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. ![]()

He played to about 150 people in a church. Just him, his guitar and 2 tape recorders. He was at the door after the concert saying goodnight to everyone individually as they filed out.

I'd suggest trying some of the King Crimson fan sites, particularly www.elephant-talk.com (respected and long-running newsletter that is now a WIKI) and www.projektion.net (same as www.king-crimson.net ), which is a newer forum.

Good Luck! and I truly hope you can get your best price for it. Regards, Glenn

His signed and remarked prints are going for just about what we paid 25 years ago. I don't know what you paid but that might be a good starting point. I don't think there is a great deal of appreciation in signed print much to my chagrin.

I posted the paragraph below on another OFC page. Applicable here (plus, it allows me to properly spell “kind”). “Thank you for your kind and informative replies. IMHO, OFC is an oasis in the online guitar forum world. I wonder: Are Ovation owners/players genetically predisposed to being polite, intelligent, and helpful (PIH)? Are the PIH drawn to Ovation guitars? Or, do Ovation guitars foster PIH in people? (Chicken vs. Egg.) I'll leave the answers to some doctoral candidate. I would like to think that I am a PIH. I may have to rethink selling both of my Ovations, lest I become a jerk.”
