Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I came about half an inch from pulling the trigger on a new MM-68 mandolin yesterday. It looked like a great price for something new, with a warranty, etc. Here\'s the eBay ad.
For once (Yeah....I know it's rare.), common sense told me to sleep on it, and I actually listened.
Lo and behold! Another one shows up today!
What are the odds?
Now that I'm suspicious, I scroll down through the ad a little more carefully. The thing is an MM68AX-5.
That's right!
Capital "A"
Capital "X"
Since when are MM-68 Mandos IMPORTS?!
Disillusionment has finally begun to set in 'round the ol' Patchworks. :( |

Happened the same time the Legends, Custom Legends, and Custom Elites became imports.

Which is why they're making them over there now. They've found the price point where people will buy ... and to get there they have to make them in Asia. |

They obviously knew what they were doing. |

| I looked that up on the Ovation site. I saw a 30th anniversary mandolin? It was all dressed up! Never heard of that model before. Is that made in USA? Currently in production? |

That would really be a low blow. |
