When my Dad passed away 3 years ago he left me his Ovation collection of 4 guitars. My Mom bought him this one at the factory, around 1978 I believe. Since they've both passed away these guitars are cherished family heirlooms that I will maintain and pass on to the next generation. But not yet.

It's in excellent condition, just a little play wear on the cowboy chords. Dad only knew about a dozen chords but he could play the hell out of them that's for sure.

Thought you guys might be interested and offer a few comments.

Beautiful ... and I'll bet it sounds awesome. Probably full of some special mojo too.

My Uncle Thomas only knew 7 chords but had tremendous music in him.

Beautiful guitar! Late 76 / early 77? Definitely an instrument to be cherished....

Beautiful guitar, love that color on them too!

Play the heck out of it, and keep it in the family!

I inherited an old mandolin from my Uncle Paul who taught me to play and passed away many years ago. Bobbo is right, there is special mojo in instruments with memories like this attached...

Thanks, you know I can't recall exactly what year...may well have been '76 or '77. It does pump out some tone, and pretty loud.

Can you tell by S/N? I'll check later.

Beautiful guitar! I agree with you - make them treasured family heirlooms and pass them on when the time is right.
