$1025 now and the reserve looks to be met. Shipping from France set at $160 to the--not too bad.

I don't know if I particularly like the color and it's difficult to tell if the top has any gold flecks in it. Not sure of the OP-24 pre-amp either. Still, it looks to be in pretty good shape and a very special instrument as shown by the tag inside the bowl.

If I knew I could get $1000 for my S/S bowl I might consider going for it. The deep bowl projects SO much more.

Funny how such a wonderful instrument never seems to find ahome for very long?? Very odd. You would think this one would be like one of the slotheads. Once it's bought you'd think it would stay put.

This info is in the link provided on the auction page:

This guitar was given by one of the founders of Hamer Guitars Jol Dantzig who got it as a
gift from the then President of Kaman Aerospace, music division (Ovation Guitars)Bill Kaman.
The story goes that it was intended for the Artist market only and was
never mass produced and may even be a one of a kind(produced only for the president of Ovation)
if not one of a small quantity (possibly under 10)

I know Ovation prices are soft right now, but if this guitar doesn't go for at least $1500 I'll be surprised. Adrian Legg's personal Adamas guitars didn't fare too well in the last year either.

Man, that's cold. Reminds me of that 12-string head that was posted here and someone's comment about how much people value the trophies they win.

This is the third time this one has been up. The first time, the seller just outbid me last fall ... it went for just south of two grand. It was back on the block a month or so ago and sold for near three grand ... I guess the sale did not go through.

And while there doesn't appear to be a reserve, note what the seller has in the terms: "I also reserve the right to end the auction if the bids are not high enough".

Cruster, I added the Ovation price and Adrian Legg comments myself. They weren't actually included in the auction link.

Sorry if I created any unnecessary confusion (as opposed to the sort of confusion that is necessary).

OK, I finally took my time reading and looking at all the info. Check out the pictures guys.

I noticed a 24 fret neck. I also noticed that the holes in the epaulets on the cutaway side are closer to cutaway edge of the bowl than the ones on my Adamas are. The cutaway epaulet also looks to be cut off at the top, once again compared to mine.

No confusion on my part. My comment was referring to the guitar having been presented to Jol Dantzig by Bill Kaman, and here it is on eBay (again). I think that if Bill Kaman were to have given me a one-off, unique piece the last thing I would have done with it is sell it. My heirs and successors, on the other hand....they'd probably dump it in a heartbeat, not realizing the value. ;)

But, hey, people are all different...
