so no more messing around......

This are going up here first, later today on the Collings site, then on Craigs List and the AGF and as a last resort ebay.

Collings C10 DEEP BODY Sunburst Mahogany sides/back with German Spruce top (with near perfect straight grain).
Heel cap is ivoroid as is the body binding. Headstock overlay, fretboard and bridge are ebony, nickle Schaller tuners.
Gibson-style "firestripe" pickguard and MOST IMPORTANT for the men out there.....1 3/4" nut !!!

String spacing at the bridge is 2-3/16" and guitar weighs just 4.3 pounds.

Guitar is in excellent+++ condition and shows just a few minor finish marks that are just visible when held in the proper light.

Plays and sounds wonderful, very little fretwear and the German top gives it beautiful sustain and complexity. Sounds incredible in drop D tuning!

Original case included (also in excellent condition).

Don't even ask what this one would cost new.

$3200 firm with shipping included CONUS.

Next is the Taylor DDSM

2001 Signature Model with the LR Baggs system.

Excellent condition and one of the best playing Taylors I have ever handled (and the ONLY one I ever considered buying....which I did). Has a small pin-sized mark on the top bout but other than that is terrific condition. OHSC included in excellent condition.

This one sounds great plugged in.

Same deal as the Collings. Going up here today and later on the other sites.

These retail for around $5000 and sell new for around $3500 or more.

$2300 FIRM shipped CONUS

The DDSM model is attractive. DD was another artist who appeared in Taylor's huge exhibit at NAMM if my memory is correct.

I sent a pic of the Collings to the local guy who bought my 99. Since I couldn't begin to answer any questions about Collings, I'll tell him to get in touch with you directly, Stephen. I'm trying to steer him away from Taylor, but if I'm unsucessful, maybe he'll go for yours. I'm sure he'll want to try before he buys, but I have no idea where he could try a Collings and compare it with anything else. Any Collings dealers in Seattle, Portland or Salt Lake?

The DDSM was the only Taylor that tried to seduce me.
.
Good luck with the sale Stephen. I look forward to see what has caught your eye. It must be something pretty special.

I've not played the DDSM, but after hearing Doyle play it live, I'd be embarrassed to try. Gorgeous guitars Stephen...must be something shiny that caught your eye...

What is the electronics package in the DDSM anyway? It doesn't appear to have a standard end-pin jack.

Thanks TJ....sometimes the stars align.

Mark, have your buddy check out the Froggy Bottom F12 I posted. GREAT 12 Fret Cutaway that sounds and plays beautifully.

Just a different flavor of ice cream than the Collings but equally as impressive in it's own way and it is a real stunner in the looks department.
