Saw John Knowles in a guitar players' meeting last night (and, yes, they let me in too - they just won't let me anywhere near the instruments). For any of you who are not familiar with John, he's a fingerstyle extraordinaire who played with Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed for years. He's also been inducted into the National Thumb Picker's Hall of Fame not once, but twice. He played and spoke for about two hours and I have to say that this guy is one of the most genuinely nice guys I have ever had the pleasure to meet and hear perform. Outside of some incredible guitar playing, he told great stories, answered every question that was asked and he said numerous times that he didn't want to leave the stage because of the good time that was being had by all. Once he did leave the stage, he hung around to talk to anybody who wanted to talk to him.

If any of you ever get the chance to stop in and see this man perform, go. It's a real treat.

He's had his domain name reserved for years w/o doing anything with it. Good to see what he's done.

He looks like Mark in Boise. Anybody ever see them in the same room? I thought not.

Well, there you go, Schroed. They couldn't possibly be the same person. Mark's never been reuly a day in his life. Unreuly, maybe.

Don't you love it when people with real talent are just real people, unlike the band leader for David Letterman?

John got his start on a plastic ukulele, purchased with money he earned from a newspaper route.
Don't let Tupperware see this. :D

It's not me. All us balding/bald guys look alike. I've never been mistaken for a guitar player before, though. Thanks, Schroeder.
As far as being unruly, I just have to say that Matt's another one of those talented people whose talent with fingers doesn't seem to translate from guitar to keyboard.
