Location: alabama | Recently my baby of 27 years..a Legend 1117-4 was tragically damaged by an irate ovation hater. The bowl, neck, bridge, machinery and rosette are (apparently) fine, but the top is completely destroyed. Is it possible to get a new top installed? This happened a few months ago, and I replaced it with a nice 1717 Legend (German Special Edition Vol 1) which has really filled the gap. I would love, however, to get my original legend back in shape if possible. Thanks! |

Location: Zion, Illinois | Send it back to Ovation. If you do a search on this site on Ovation's customer service you'll see what a top notch group they are. They can restore you baby for you.
A bit of advise, always use the back of the Ovation when hitting irate Ovation hatter's. The lyrachord body can withstand the impact against something as hard (and empty) as an Ovation haters head.
You've got to tell us the story behind this. Good luck with the repair. |

Location: alabama | Thanks Bradley,
Looking closer, I wonder if the bowl will need some work also. Looks like it might have some hairline cracks. But I will contact Ovation and see what they can do. And the story....well...may have to seal that one for a few years....laffs |

Having to replace your prized Ovation - $$$$
Not having to duck from flying guitars - PRICELESS
Still single and loving it! |

Location: alabama | Wow Bob....you kinda hit the nail on the head. Luckily my head wasn't in the way of the deep bowl of my Legend. Laffs...anyway..I talked to John Budny, customer service manager at Ovation, and I think I may try to have my baby restored!
P.S. I keep the 1717 locked up in the case and the closet........ |
