Whilst sitting here browsing the net just looking at many beautiful guitars, (only because fate sucks and had me just go thru my second shoulder surgery in 6 months, so once again, I can't play my beloved "O")
I happened to come across this link...

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Rubber-Band-Guitar

and realized that I was very fortunate that I am from the 60's and not the "high-tech" 21st century. My first guitar was very hard to fret and had the plunkiest sound ever but I now relish that memory after seeing THIS "box" guitar.
I wonder if someone has actually built this thing to play with?!?!? :D

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. Hope all heals quickly.

There was a link in there about an Art Project using old guitar strings as well! Nice, odd offering LeStrange!

I love that it warns to keep the 'guitar' away from your face while stringing it... I can see the headlines now "Sudden blindenss reaching staggering levels as Rubber Band Guitar craze sweeps nation..."

The only thing sadder than you finding this on the internet is that someone took the time to write it and post pictures.

LaStange, Hope that shoulder heals-up nice, get you back to your O.

Hey, I made rubber-band guitars when I was a kid! Wish I had that info! I nailed plywood and a 1x2 together. I first tried twine, like my Roy Rogers toy guitar had. Then moved to heavy rubber bands.
In 20/20 hindsight, that toy guitar that I destroyed was probably just as good as any 3/4 guitar that they sell at Wally World now.
