Location: Alberta, Canada | Played one of these in a shop in Edmonton, today. Serial # in the 22,000 range, with the foil lable. The top was not cracked at all, but was dipping unbelievably from the bottom of the lower bout right to the sound hole. Could not believe there were no cracks!
Under the circumstances, not bad sound and playability was good. They had it priced at $439!
Way too much. I asked the sales guy how old it was and he said , "Oh, it's not very old!". When I said "Oh yeah it is!", he just mumbled and walked away. :) So, how old is it? '72-'74?
They also had 2 old Ovation 12 strings, hung up on the wall, but I was short of time and didn't get a chance to check them out.

Location: Whitecourt, Ab | Lilo's oh that explains the price. Every once in a while they get some great guitars in there, but pricey. I think an ex-cop from Whitecourt used to own it or at least manage it, can't recall his name, but he sure knew his stuff about guitars.
The legend is really starting to grow on me. I play it plugged in and it rocks, meanwhile I'm saving for a neck reset at the mothership |

Location: Alberta, Canada | Karen, I appreciate the response. Sorry, I had meant to respond earlier, got sidetracked responding to Ed, and then had to leave.
I knew I had seen a place to find that info but just couldn't find it. Thanks, again,

I looked again yesterday and they still had a copy or two.
Glad to hear you're bonding with the Legend.
