Location: Boise, Idaho		That's not supposed to be a plug. It's should be the head of the bolt for the bridge. It's recessed. Maybe somebody decided to cover it with the base of a cartridge. The jack looks like it's on the side. This one has a few mods, since I think they all had a jack that plugs into the pickguard. They usually cracked. This one probably had a new pickguard made and they moved the jack to a less fragile place. It also has a humbucker as a bridge pickup and some replacement volume and tone knobs. I wonder if I can buy the originals. Nice wood, though. Looks like flame maple to me.

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest		Really nice wood.. wood make an easy restore. There were a couple of vipers with the jack on the side, but apparently not many. I didn't realize how unique mine was with the side jack until long after I got rid of it and it took a long time to find a replacement.

Location: Florence,SC		Mr. O, all the Vipers I've seen pictures of that had edge-mounted jacks had clearly had modifications. If you've got an original one, I'd love to see pictures of it. And also where its serial number falls in the sequence of numbering. Placement of the jack in the pickguard of the Vipers has always been its only fault ... IMHO.
