This eBay guitar looks deeper than the standard shallow back.

Very nice looking to boot !

Too rich for me.

Hard for me to tell from the pictures there, but all 5858s were shallow bowls. But since the factory has to replace the bowl when they replace the top, and this one apparently went from the Walnut on the 5858 to an SMT top, anything is possible.  But I bet on a shallow bowl since the case interior is blue.

If I'm not mistaken the only cases that have the blue lining are shallow, so I'd say that is a shallow bowl.

The second digit is an 8. That means super shallow bowl...

But it's a refurb so anything is possible. Just ask Patch!

"Ovation did not have the orginal style face in stock so they offered to "upgrade" it with the Melissa Etheridge style Adamas SMT graphite face and electronics"

I asked about the bowl depth. I'll post what they say. It's a cool looking guitar. I wish I could talk myself into it.

ZING!

Anyway, although Bobbo's correct in that sometimes anything goes with a refurb, only a SSB would fit in that case.

Can't blame ya for looking though; that's a nice guitar.
