Yeah, I know that I should research stuff BEFORE I buy it, But!
I was looking for a cheap guitar with a case to get the case, then I bought this.
It wasn't no $100 special, but it looked purdy.
So, if I like this, I still won't have enough cases to go around!
I figure that an OP-20 is 2/3's of an OP-30 in there, and it is a mid-depth.
(I never use the mid-shift button anyway)

(evilBay pics... Please excuse the booger on the camera lens)

So if anybody has one of these, I'd be interested in any information.
Once I get it I can post my own review.

Dude,
It looks good and should play nicely. You just have to find the right setup and adjust tone with some 13's.

My semi experienced know-it-all opinion is it will have more high end and less boom-boom to use the scientific terms.

You might even check out my stuff and see what you need to trade for when you get bored with it.

And I have an OP30 if you get to point.

Got It!

It is in pretty good shape. It has some pick tracks if you look for them. But you gotta look for them. Now I gotta change the strings and all that. It sounds alright now, but I am not sure of the age/gauge of the strings. So I can give a better opinion once I know exactly what I am dealing with.

Kinda like a Sunrise, huh?

Changed the strings to EXP11 80/20's and it sounds nice.
It has nice action with a coupla shims still under there. It is a nice guitar.
But I have a minor problem with the plugged-in sound... Mentioned it This Thread...

How does its sound compare to the 1621-4 that you sold awhile back.

That 1621 was a Nice guitar.

This sounds good. I have the Bronze strings on it so it sound kinda bright and airy.
I found a set of EJ17's in my drawer after I changed the strings, so I may eventually try some 13-56 on there like Woody recommended.
But it is a nice little guitar for a Celebrity.
It's marine-grade plywood so I can take it out when the weather turns crappy around here. :p

Okay... The undersaddle pick-up worked... But it still did not want to work with shims.(?)
So I swapped it out with an Artec undersaddle unit (from my Trekker) and now it works fine.
[The CK047's saddle works fine in the Trekker too!]
I went down a got a compensated saddle for it, adjusted the truss-rod, and took it outside and played it on a street corner. It works Great now! Acoustically and Plugged-in.
Now that I got it all fixed-up.... Now I guess I gotta buy another guitar to tune-up, huh? :D

BTW-- When I have been outside playing, people often stop and compliment me on whichever Ovation I have out there at the time. So where is all this online Ovation-derision coming from? All I get is compliments in person!
