I have become frustrated with Ovation's lack of historical material on their new website. I don't fault them for the updates, I just wish that info was still available SOMEWHERE.

So, my question, and I warn you it may be incredibly naive.

Could this website obtain the old history and archive pages from Ovation and set them up here in the reference section?

You need to look through Jerome's sight

www.ovationtribute.com

It is the official unofficial Ovation-ipedia without a doubt.

I think FMIC needs to endorse his work!

I am aware of Jerome's site as well as Dave's, but neither are the same as the old Ovation archive (discontinued models) section for ease of quick info.

Give them time, I'm sure it'll be there.

The discontinued guitar archive from the old Ovation website can still be accessed from The Wayback Machine . This is the Ovation site 2 iterations ago (mid 2005). I haven't found an archive of the last iteration that links deeper the initial Archived Guitars page. This mid-2005 archive lacks many of the pictures of the discontinued guitars, but most of the information on them is there.

A good number of the old Ovations are archived here on their new site. Tho, I'm sure it's not complete.
There's even a link to their history pages.

Since we are complaining... The new format does not include bowl depth.
I was just looking-up an Ultra 1527, and it does have it listed... Just not the bowl size.
I gotta agree with Fletcher that I miss the old Archive.
(But we used to complain that it was not complete either)

G8r, The wayback site is great - thanks for posting that link!!

Just to be clear, I didn't really mean to be complaining about the new Ovation site - I simply missed having that old info at my fingertips.

But no one has actually answered my question; could those old pages be obtained and set up here in the reference section? I don't know how that wayback site actually reproduced the old info, but couldn't a newer version of that be done here? WE could then make it complete. Or I should say, we could make suggestions and SOMEONE could make it complete.
