I absolutely love David Gilmore's music. I've been a fan extending back to Pink Floyd...for me, he is a consummate artist and multi-instrumentalist with a guitar tone that is just incredible. HDTV included his Royal Albert Hall 2007 Concert with several Friends who lent a hand (voice): including David Crosby and Graham Nash (who along with David Gilmore did a wonderful version of "Find the Cost of Freedom"), and David Bowie. David Gilmore w/his band included the late great keyboard maestro Richard Wright who did the spoken vocals for "Comfortably Numb" and second guitarist Phil Manzanera who played an Ovation among many other guitars...
Awesome lighting and effects and first rate cinematography...if you have an HDTV, it is well worth watching. Seeing and experiencing Richard Wright's talent was bittersweet as it reminded me that he is simply irreplaceable...
It was followed by the Rolling Stones Steel Wheels 1991 World Tour which for me, could not hold a candle to David Gilmore's concert.
All in all it was a great way to spend a evening in front of the the big screen...a luxury I don't get a chance to enjoy as much as I'd like...

Mike, I also love David Gilmore's music. His sound and guitar playing can not be matched. Wish I seen that show, instead I had to watch the Bears Loose. I love playing mother when I play out, I play it with a 12 string, with a little reverb and delay and it comes close.
When I was stationed in Europe in the 70's and 80's I would go to record stores on the economy and there you could find albums from Pink Floyd or a lot of bands, that were never released in the U.S. I had two old Pink Floyd albums, lost in the divorce that were never released in the US or they had additional songs on them that were not released here. There hard to come by but they are still out there in some record store waiting to be found.

G'Dansk is one of my favorite DVD's...along with some of his other concert's but I had not seen this one in it's entirety until last night.

The Stones concert got better toward the end but started off really shakey...

Also on after I posted this last evening was Paul McCartney Live from New York...it was also well done...

I agree Mike!

I love this shot of Crosby and Nash mesmerized by David's playing:

....love the "dropped jaw" on Nash! That's how I usually react as well!

The Gdansk show is on Palladia fairly frequently. Good one.

The Stones show was probably "At the Max", which was filmed in iMax with a high definition soundtrack. Watching it in an iMax theater was stunning, I went several times because the visuals and the audio were so far beyond anything I'd ever experienced in a concert movie. I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it.

P.S. It's Gilmour.

Bobbo: I knew that...long day/late night and no other excuse...

The Stones show "At the Max" was actually aired later in the evening...and you're right, what I saw of it (very late for me with an early wake-up) it was excellent!
