When I bought my S771, everyone told me how good it would sound through an amp. From the guy who sold it to me to just about everyone who I tell that I bought an Ovation. My response has always been..."yah, but I have an electric...I bought this to have an acoustic that I don't have to plug in".

So...today I was learning "Better Man" by Pearl Jam (on my Axis electric) and after going through it a couple times thought that it would sound good on the Ovation. Since the amp is next to me, I decided to plug in.

WOW

These things sound unbelievable plugged in!

(ok.....you can stop chuckling and just laugh at me now)

I have to agree...the Ovation is quite magical when plugged in. I got my new one today and my fingers haven't been this sore in months.

You've discovered what many of us long time Ovation players found out as well: for sound, playability and road worthyness, nothing compares to an Ovation/Adamas...Congrats and enjoy!

I'm in the mountains for the weekend with family, and the only O is my bro in law's S771 that I sold him. I still love it.
