Can anyone tell me here how much is this guitar worth. It's selling in a local pawn ship for $399, is it worth that?

Thanks for your help.

If it is in good shape, sounds good, and comes with a case... it is a very good price. The things to watch out for are cracks in the finish, severely worn frets, and high action. If the action is high, look at the bridge and see if the saddle is sitting high in the bridge or low. If it is high, there are likely to be shims that can be removed to correct the problem. If the action is high and the bridge saddle sits low, it may need a neck reset and suddenly isn't such a good deal.

But I agree with Glenn; if it feels good and sounds good to you, it may be a keeper.

Thank you all. I did purchase the guitar, even though I noticed, after I payed for it, a small ding on the wood near the tunning pegs, (is that what you call the head stock). Anyway, I negociated with the sales person and I was able to get it for $310, tax included. I connected to an amp while I was there and it sounded sweet.
Thanks again for your help.

...wow, a 1768 for 3 bills!...send it to New Hartford for a tune-up, it's worth the investment...

A headstock ding is a sign of character, if it isn't ugly or a chunk of one of the ears missing. You got a great deal on a really nice guitar.

Joe, congrats! I must not go to the right places. I never seem to find those deals.
