Location: Brisbane Australia | I am am negotiating to buy very early Deacon here in Oz supposedly owned (waiting on confirmation) by Eric McCusker, guitarist with legendary Aussie band Mondo Rock.
The serial No is 960 no letter prefix.
I know Deacons were made from 72 to 79 and this one having the single coils and jack in the body being among the first of them.
According to serial number dating info #320/ #999 were Feb/Nov 1967.
Anyone throw some light on this?

Picked it up in Sydney last weekend when I was there on business.
Got an email From Eric last week conrirming his previous ownership.
He said he bought it new and after about 3 years traded it for a Tele with the Uncle of the guy I got it from.
Has been unplayed for 20+ years, but sure did some in it's early life.
Needs some work but it's basically all there

Any idea what number they actually started with?
The only other one I know of with a three digit number is the white BW that Slipkid has, its #901

Cool guitar, and a very early one.
Didn't someone here have one with a very low serial #...I'm thinking 020 or lower? |
