Location: Canada | As posted earlier on the bulletin board, I had found a Glen Campbell 12 String used a few weeks back for $200 in a consignment shop and posted some pictures. Several posters here had commented on its odd combination of features.
As a player, the action was problematic and the truss wasn't responding so I eventually took it into a professional for repairs.
This gentleman right off the bat said the neck wasn't original and that the rosewood bridge was an add-on as well. He did say that the bowl and top were originals however and that the serial number inside dated the body to 1970.
I can attest to the beautiful sound of the top myself but it is sinking a little and there is a lacquer crack right behind the bridge.
Although the neck was a well crafted fake, it isn't comfortably playable or adjustable anymore so I'm having it professionaly removed and offering instead the body for sale or trade.
Ultimately I'd like a roadworthy Ovation with electronics and am more particular about sound and ease of play than looks/condition or place of manufacture (six string is fine; It doesn't have to be 12).
If this is interest to anyone, please let me know. |

I just need a guitar. The work needed (ordering and having a new neck fitted) would take about 6 weeks but I've got all these little gigs coming up and can't afford either the wait or the costs. |
