As I think a working preamp would be the main reason why someone would want to buy this, I thought it may be best to let other members know, as it's not mentioned in the item description. It just doesn't look as though much of the electrics are any use at all! Maybe he just don't want to send to the UK! Cheers

I'm lead to believe a new pre-amp would solve this problem. The guy who is selling has emailed me again saying now that he doesn't know for sure what is or isn't working on it, as he only bought it for spares. Don't let me put anyone off placing a bid if they think they can make some use of it.

Thanks Brudev and Chatman! at one time there was talk of some of the more electronically inclined building replacement boards.... but that has since faded away. The Misundastood Old Black Preacher (Deluxe) I believe still resides at the home of MR. Golf... Glenn

This Deacon I have was in a really bad state when it arrived, so much so that I ended up carving a new body. I tried the electrics before they went in & they seemed ok. I'm starting to wonder now if I did something when I took them out of the old body. I will go back and have a look at the tone pot.
