Location: Upper Left USA | One highly mediocre but good learning quality Harmony Five String Resonator Banjo with case and Banjo for Dummies Book!
Harmony Banjo Album
This is the entry level Banjo that was mass produced and served the needs of many aspiring Banjo Artists (yes, I did put those two words in the same sentence!).
It has a beautiful wood resonator, has the Aluminum "Bottle Cap" ring and is pre-cleaned and set up so as to welcome its next owner!
So... if you're mad at your sister... buy it for your brother in law! Mad a Aunt Janey? Get it for Uncle Billy!
Banjo, case, book, shipping in the CONUS $200.
It actually is a nice unit. There were many made and maybe some of the real Banjo players can talk on the finer points of Maple rings and other enhancements - but the truth is this is a good way to start if you had a hankerin... or feel downright mean.

I haven't see anything made by Harmony for a couple of decades, though I haven't been looking.
I had a hollow body electric Harmony back in the 70's. It wasn't the greatest guitar, but I had a helluva lot of fun with it.
I'm tempted to buy it to torment my family and pets, but I'm afraid my wife would bludgeon me with it after a few hours playing! |

Pearly, Early Harmony
So after checking prices I'll move the total cost down to $175 including S$H. |

Location: SoCal | Had one back in about 1978 until I sold it a few years later. Scraped off the top until clear...bought for $125, sold for $400. The buyer thought it was 'special' with a clear top.
I have an Oscar Schmidt OB-5 that I bought new in 2003 for $400. Drives away the coyotes. At dinner a couple of years ago, Brad Davis asked if I had a banjo when we were talking about the local Deering company - he looked like he had indigestion when I told him it was an Oscar Schmidt. |
