Haa anyone heard Slash's (from Guns and Roses fame)new song 'Obsession Confession'? It is accoustic latin jazz. I always thought he was great but he is really versital.

Yes, I heard a track of his on the Gypsy Soul CD: very well done and, well, soulful. I was never a GNR fan but always admired Slash. He seemed closer to a musical heir of Page than any of his peers; truly musical. Axl on the other hand drove me nuts (the whining, the behavior, the repetitive "how wow" mannerisms)...

I recall posting something about about Slash's song a while back. and I will admit that it's a very good tune. I was informed that the song is really not new ... that it dates back to 1996(?). Funny, that it's only recently that it's been getting airplay at CD 101.9 -- the smooth Jazz station in my neck of the woods.

I can confirm that the song has been around about 10 years. It got and still gets a lot of airplay on LA's smooth jazz station 94.7 KTWV "The Wave". One of the DJ's once commented that he wrote it for his Mother.

Yet I just recently heard it on KYOT Phoenix's smooth jazz station. I guess we are not in the loop. :p

PHX is far from out of the loop. Decisons on what gets played on any depond on station management and the PD. I still laugh when a smooth JAZZ station plays a classic rock song by Santana, Sting, Bill Withers or thers (most often is a Motown tune.
