Location: Nr. Portland, OR | Hi all, I saw a cool guitar trio -- 'Zesty Enterprise' playing at the local PDX Bastille Day celebrations yesterday. COuldn't find out much about them on the web, they were kinda 'Crafty Guitarist' style. They played a shallow-bowl Ovation balladeer-like guitar (sorry, can't navigate O's model numbers at all), a Parker, and the guy in the middle -- Igor Abuladze -- played a wild acoustic guitar with fanned frets by Patriot -- see the link for Mr. Abuladze above and click on the picture. I was aware of the fanned fret concept, but this was the first time I heard/saw one in the flest. It sounded fantastic, the different scale lengths meant the bass strings had really deep full sound whilst the trebble strings rang.
Now, if only there were a fanned-fret O...

Not sure how it would be on a guitar but for a bass it is killer. |

do a google search of novax and acoustic. My apologies, I didn't realize that the Novax prototypes were so common. I lead a sheltered life, and I had never seen/heard a fanned freted acoustic until this saturday. I thought it was interesting, but clearly they're passe to you.
So what are they like to play? I'd love to hear your experience. |
