Joined: October 2006 Posts: 11 Location: Santa Clarita, California | I recently found an Ovation guitar which caught my eye on the Musicians Friend web site. The guitar was a 1778T-OFT (Orange Flame Top) and they had it on clearance. One day I noticed they had dropped the price $50.00 (it seems to have been a one-week reduction) and had a “Stairway to Heaven” promotion which would save me another $75.00. The bottom line was this unique guitar delivered cost me $574.99 so I could not pass it up. The guitar arrived yesterday and I was very impressed after seeing the guitar in person. To me the color is closer to a copper metal flake than an orange but my eyes are not as good as they use to be. Here is where my confusion comes in, the web site listed the pre-amp as an OP30 yet the pre-amp on the guitar is an OP-Pro. The other thing that was confusing is the web site lists the bracing as being Quintad yet I noticed one of the Orange Flames in the gallery with a similar serial number (mine is 600332 vs. 600371) list the bracing as LX. My feeble attempt at researching this guitar has only confused me more as I have found the same inconsistencies across the Internet. So my first question is, why is there such a variation in the different Elite Ts? My second question is what bracing do I have and how would I know the difference by looking at it? Thanks in advance for your expertise. Mark

They must be running an old copy in the ad, or are just mixed up. You know how "non Ovation" people are....

When stock sits on a shelf too long, big companies will move them at little or no profit to make room for new stuff. Someone might have pulled up the wrong ad in the computer, but it was close enough. They move the guitars, and someone snags a great deal. Everyone's happy. I want to know where I can find one of the red ones with the shiny red painted bowl. Sweeeet!
