I believe he bought it new in the early eighties? Is there a link that would give details on this model? I haven't seen this guitar in years (long distance friendship). The problem with the celebrity guitars is that I don't if a lot of information was kept on them.

I'll be more diligent in searching on my own before asking for info. in the future. I just like posting here, and conversing with you all. The guitar is a steel, 6 string, deep bowl guitar. The bracing was K-3 (I have no idea what that was) and was a strictly acoustic guitar. I can't find anything else. There are no pictures of that model.

I knew it was not an expensive guitar, just was curious as to it's construction. Norse(thanks again)man1 p.s. Al, I tried doing some searches. Lots of sites for buying Ovations, I found none that could give history on past models.

My theory is when they went from making a few guitars a week to making many guitars a week, no one thought "gee, we should keep track of these." In all fairness, there is also the factor of the guitar that makes it all the way to the end of the finish process and either ends up as a 2nd or in the chipper due to a flaw that was caught at the last minute. There are other factors too, and that's just keeping track of the USA made ones. Who knows what random numbering sequence is used on the Korean models. Nice guitars, but building them is their job, not tracking them.
