Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Hey everyone. My nephew got a CC01 Celebrity with the mahogany top. I really like the look of the mahogany top. Does anyone know if Ovation ever considered an American model with a mahogany top? Any prototypes made? Thanks...Paul Hebert |

Location: The Shop | I ight be wrong, but I believe that the mahagony is just a finish.Could be wrong but The web site says avail.finishes------spruce or mahagony.Dont know for sure about the US models but i dont think that mahagony was ever used for a top. |

Location: Scotland | A friend of mine has a 20's all mahogany Martin 2-17. The Martin size 2 looks like it's a prop from the Muppet Show. I've never heard a guitar that sounds so huge or records so well. I have another friend in NYC who has a wartime banner-headstock J45, no trussrod and a mahogany top. Worth a mint, sounds & plays like dogpoo. |

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | My first guitar was an all mahogany Harmony. Best campfire, hitch hikeing, boating, basement kept, attic stored, out of case, cold to warm, warm to cold, overall abused guitar I've ever seen. The thing was indistructable. In the past 40 years, it's gone thru 2 bridges and is now in the closet waiting for it's third. Sound? I always it was just to carry around and make girls think "Hey look, that guy plays guitar". Actually, it sounds pretty good. If anybody knows where I might find a bridge for it, please let me know.
Signed,
Cool guy with a stringed canoe paddle. |
