Location: SoCal | Actually, this is where the pricing has been on these guitars for the last 2-3 that have sold on ebay, and one that I know of that sold off of ebay. Doesn't look like they are trying to force anything. |

Location: Scotland | Exactly. Apart from the relative rarity this is one of, if not the best electric 12-strings ever made. If they were reissued now and made in the USA they'd cost a fortune, way more than the price he's expecting to get. Those bodies are 1-piece Honduran mahogany. Paul Reed Smith would kill for stock like that now. Personally I have enough Ovation solids, including a Deacon 12, & I got them all for peanuts, so I'm perfectly happy for the market to improve. |

You know, I was surprised when the Preacher 12 strings started going on ebay for $11-$1200 just a few months ago. So I'm really surprised to see the Deacon 12's go for $1600. But they are worth every penny. There's nothing else that you could buy new that's even close. |

Not knocking them for a second! Just didn't realize what a deal I'd gotten I guess. I got all the breadwinners for around $500 so I figured that was where the 12-strings should be.

I'm not an electric player, but if I were EVER to own an electric, this'd be IT!!! I love the shpe of these guitars, and the mahogany is GORGEOUS!!!
Since I found this Board a couple of years ago, I've seen a couple of 'em come & go, and it KILLED me to not be able to "pounce" on one!
