My daughter, Kaki King, is touring with Keb Mo. She's playing an interesting guitar and this review features a nice pic.

Very nice Dave.

What are the specs/history on that guitar? I have often thought the epaulet treatment is a great area for personal expression on a custom.

Michael, that guitar is based on a design idea which Kaki asked Kaman to build for her. Essentially it's a prototype which I believe was built late last year.

It's an Adamas II 1581 cutaway with a glossy finish neck and headstock. It may have non-standard bracing. OP-24 electronics but tweaked a little (I think). The epaulet design is based on her idea.

I have not heard it yet, but Kaki told me it sounds "fantastic" on stage.

Btw, she is booked to appear fairly close to you in July:

Hey Dave,
Congratulations on the growing success of your daughter!.

My nieces husband plays with Keb(Kevin) and does all the set up work on Kevin's guitars... His name is Clayton Gibb.. Let her know that he's a great guy and tell her to drop my name.. Gerald Bullock, and he'll get a real kick out of the fact that this is a small world!...

He set up a Yairi that I have and he's a great guitar technician!...

Once again,
Congratulations!
Best to You and Yours
Gerald

Nice review and great photo.

Dave, afraid I missed the tour when they came through town, had other commitments that night.
:(

Will have to make it the next time she's in the metroplex....

Great review!

Also isn't it cool how they moved the epaulettes from the guitar to her blouse! :D
