I just purchased another Deluxe Balladeer that needs a bit of work. First, the rosette coating is mostly gone and the remaining coating is cloudy. Can this be redone by the factory? It is also missing a piece of the outer binding and I was wondering if the factory can repair/replace the binding? Looks like a 3 piece top with the 5 point bridge. Serial number is in Red ink and is 1517 which is also stamped inside the neck block. I'm assuming it is a late '67 to early '68 model? This is only the second Deluxe Balladeer I've seen in person so I had to save it! Any ideas about the costs of the above repairs would be appreciated. The top is crack free!

On an unrelated note, I'm wondering if this post will still keep me as the oldest "New" member on the list! ;) ;)

Definitely send it to the factory. They can do great things with the top and the binding is easy for them to fix.

When I bought a Deluxe Balladeer, about 3 years ago, it came from Austin. It had it's top refinished by the factory and was perfect. It now lives in Germany.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm guessing that I will find the info needed to send the guitar in for repairs on the Ovation website?

And I guess I've always been a Junior Member. (Doh!) I need to start posting more on this great site.
