Forgive me... I have a non-O 12-string coming. What kinda strings should I get? (After everyone calls me a traitor.) Good advice always helps.

Something cheap - the guitar won't sound that good anyway! Teehee!

Only kidding - I put Elixirs on my 12, just because I don't play it that often, and it's nice to have the strings last better for longer.

If you play it a lot, I wouldn't be able to tell you anything useful, I'm afraid...

I've been quite happy with the non-coated d'addario's. Can't remember the number. Basically the cheapest DA-12's you can buy.

Nice thought Tup. I figger that I will still be playing the my sixers mostly. But it will be nice to have the "full-orchestra-effect" lying around the house.
Any other suggestions? Saw some disgustingly cheap Martins...
I'd prefer something with "Longetivity."

I have a nice Alvarez 12 that I bought new in 1978, and have tried a number of brands of strings. The ones I really like are the Martin SP Phosphor Bronze, XL.
