Christmas is coming and I want an Ovation;) I've never owned one and I'm limited to $300 so I was wondering what you connaisseurs would do in my place? I think I'm below what a used USA one would go for so I'm leaning towards just going to GC and pickin up a CC24, anyone lived with one of these?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, happy holidays!

If you're not picky about looks or surface cracks, you should be able to find a US made O for that money, maybe less.

Welcome, Benzjamin. I'm with TJ - if you don't care about some minor-to-moderate cosmetic issues you can probably find a Balladeer or maybe even a Legend for about that. Best of luck & let us know how it turns out.

Thank you, that's good to know and I'll keep eyes peeled. Character issues are fine, as long as it has a cut away I'm happy.

I picked up a 12-string Balladeer for $163 on the bay. It had one small ding which I fixed. So it is possible. Keep looking and bid late.

As for the CC24, go and play it, see how ot fits, feels and sounds. My first O was an CC257. I still have it and still play it.

Hey Benzjamin, this 1657 Anniversary is low right now, but will probably go past your price point with 6 days left on the auction. Still, it's worth keeping an eye on with today's crazy market - you never know. It's essentially a slightly less blingy Custom Legend and a great guitar.

There are a number of other good older O's potentially within your price point, like this Custom Balladeer , on ebay right now.
